Whether you’re getting ready for a photoshoot, a special event, or your big day, preparing properly for your beauty session makes all the difference. To ensure everything runs smoothly and you get the best possible result, here’s everything you need to know before we arrive.
Let’s make your glam moment as relaxing and beautiful as possible!
Skin Prep: The Foundation of Flawless Makeup
To get that fresh, radiant finish, the state of your skin matters just as much as the products we use. Here’s how to get your skin makeup-ready:
- Prepare with a clean face: Please have no makeup on and ensure your skin is slightly moisturised — not oily, not dry — so we can work on a fresh, well-prepped base.
- Follow a daily routine: We recommend cleansing, toning, and moisturising your skin daily in the weeks leading up to your appointment.
- Twice a week: You can enhance your skin’s hydration by applying a moisturising mask a couple of times a week before your session.
Want to go the extra mile?
Book a treatment with one of our partner estheticians for a skin boost before your appointment. Great options include:
- HydraFacial
- Oxygen facial
- LED therapy
- Enzymatic or light acid peel (several days before)

Brides, take note:
During your bridal makeup session, we include a full skin prep: gentle exfoliation, a moisturising mask, light massage, and a special primer routine to ensure longevity and a flawless glow — even if you didn’t have time for professional facials beforehand.
Hair: The Details That Matter
We want your hair to hold its style beautifully throughout the day. Here’s how to prep:
- For standard packages (especially if your hair is naturally straight): Please ensure your hair is freshly washed and completely dry before we arrive. This gives us the perfect clean base to style and ensures the best, long-lasting result without the need for a blowout.
- If your hair is frizzy or naturally curly, it will likely need a blowout beforehand for a smooth base. We can assist with that (may be an add-on depending on your package).
- If you need the blowout on short hair, it should be clean and slightly damp before your hairdresser arrives.
- Avoid heavy conditioners or styling products before your appointment — we’ll apply everything needed.

Don’t Forget the Manicure
When preparing for your beauty appointment, your hands deserve just as much attention as your face and hair — especially if you’re a bride or planning an engagement photoshoot. Close-up shots of your rings, hands, or bouquet are often among the most cherished memories, so having well-groomed nails is key. At Bogarni, we collaborate with expert nail artists who specialize in precise, detail-oriented Eastern European techniques. You can easily book a manicure session through us, ensuring your look is polished from head to fingertips.

Your Space: Creating the Perfect Setup

To ensure we have a smooth and efficient session, here’s what we’ll need from you:
- A clean area with good natural daylight (if during the day). Otherwise, no worries — we’ll bring our professional lighting.
- Two regular chairs (no need for anything fancy!).
- A small table or clean surface where we can set up our makeup and hair tools.
- Electrical outlets nearby, especially if we’re using hot tools or lights.
What to Wear (and Not to Wear)
To keep your makeup and hairstyle intact when changing, please consider:
- Wearing a button-up shirt, robe, or anything with a wide neckline.
- Brides or clients wearing delicate dresses: whenever possible, step into your dress from the bottom to avoid contact with your hair or face.
- If your final outfit goes on over your head, it’s better to put it on before your beauty session and prepare a clean towel or large scarf to protect it while wearing.
